Who we are
A student-run initiative that focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills and providing participants hands-on learning opportunities in a real business.
High school students in grades 10–12 are guided through their business operations by teaching staff. Together, our team manages taking orders, carrying out production, communicating with clients and shipping out finished products.

From a business perspective, our focus at Badlands Cre8tions is product customization.
Beyond that, the purpose that underscores all of the work we do is to give students real-world, hands-on experience in a working business.
Students in our program are directly involved in decisions around the company's direction and growth. They work together to brainstorm new ideas, pitch business ventures to school leaders, execute product line expansions as well as all of the daily tasks involved in their business.
When it comes to the products and services we provide, Badlands Cre8tions offers a variety of quality products that can be personalized.
We carry apparel (Hoodies, Tees, Sweatpants, etc.) that can be customized or bought with pre-designed graphics. We also offer a range of engraveable products, such as travel mugs and tumblers that can be personalized in house.
While we specialize in product customization, our team is always working to expand our selection of products as well.
Where we're located
The Badlands Cre8tions online store is run through the Back to Business classroom at Eagle Butte High School.
Located in Dunmore, EBHS is part of southeast Alberta's Prairie Rose Public Schools.
As our classroom operates within the regular school year, our team members generally shift each semester and most of our business occurs from September–June. We don't have a physical location for the public to visit, but we welcome you to get to know us here on our website, as well as by following us on Facebook and Instagram.

When it started
Planning for the Back to Business class at EBHS started in the last part of 2018.
When the February 2019 semester kicked off, our first student team was in the classroom preparing to start a business. These students worked to develop a brand identity and to define their goals and mission. This first semester also saw the initial equipment investment that brought our Epilog Fusion M2 laser engraver into the classroom and enabled us to create custom products.
The September 2020 semester was a time for building and growth. Our student team worked hard to fill our shelves with completed products and a variety of samples to show what they could do! This work culminated in the Grand Opening of our physical shopping space which—at the time—was located near the Prairie Rose Public Schools head office in Dunmore.
Since those early days, lots has changed. Renovations have been completed at Eagle Butte High School, which has seen us move to a new classroom space. We have expanded our equipment lineup to include a Roland Versa BN-20 vinyl printer/cutter and heat press. This allows us to offer full-colour customizations on a number of new materials such as clothing and ceramics. Of course, we've also learned a great deal about working remotely within a team, because of shifts to online learning that were made in order to accommodate for the Covid-19 pandemic. Time away from the physical shopping space that we had in Dunmore proved to us the importance of a strong online presence, and our students made the decision to transition away from the physical space, opting to concentrate all energies on the online store, and custom orders for individual clients.
